PLACEMENT CELL

The Placement Cell of M.E.S College of Arts & Commerce, Zuarinagar was established 15 years back with an aim of providing the final year students an opportunity to get gainfully employed by coordinating campus placements. The Placement Cell comprises of Asst. Prof. Cedila Pereira e Gomes as the Chairperson; Asst. Prof. Shweta Naik, Asst. Prof. Rajesh Tanskali and Asst. Prof. Jamina D’Souza as it’s members. The Placement Cell organises recruitment drives in association with established organizations. The data base of students is also provided to employers on request. In the current academic year, a total of 14 companies conducted placement drives and 119 students were selected. The Placement Cell also ensures that the students are ably equipped with the necessary skills required for the job market and hence collaborated with Divergent Alliance which conducted a training module for the final year students titled “Smarter than Smart” which was held from the 26th -28th of September 2018. ‘Presentation Skills’, ‘How to face an interview with confidence’, ‘Group Discussion’ & ‘Resume writing’ were some of the topics covered during the training session. The resource person for the training session was Ms. Neelam Kalangutkar, a Corporate Behavioural Trainer with over 10 years of experience as a Human Resource Professional in the field of Learning and Development (CIPLA Ltd., Verna and Hotel Vivenda, Calangute).

Last year, the Placement Cell conducted a session on  ‘C.V Writing’ and ‘Presentation Skills for an Interview’ for the final year students of the college on 24th February 2018. Ms. Clare Noronha, was the resource person, with over eighteen years experience as an HR Professional working in diverse areas of Management in the Corporate Sector, from Manufacturing to Hotels and Multi-National Companies. She is empanelled with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), School of Vocational Education, and is a faculty for their PG Diploma Course in HR & Administration, in Goa and is a trained ISO 9001:2000 Internal Auditor.
